Xavier Vignon Lirac 2020

This vintage is due in Sept 2024 in Ontario. I tasted it with Xavier Vignon months earlier, where, amid several other wines, it showed the lovely rounded, soft yet balanced ambiance I have come to expect of Lirac, a small appellation on the other side of the river from Chateauneuf du Pape. The nose shows generous ripe, strawberry/cherry jam, subtle pepper and florals. It is medium-full bodied with moderated alcohol and very fine, sandy tannin. The length is excellent.
