Ousmane Doumbia was born in Diourbel in central Senegal, West Africa, in 1972. He received his Masters Degree in English from Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal. He has worked as a library clerk and as an English/French translator and interpreter. In 2007, he accepted a two-year contract as personnel manager at a gold mine in the eastern part of his native land.
