Two gutting events occurred in my life. The first was on May 26, 2011, when my identical twin sister succumbed to a five-year unrelenting brain tumor and the second-a mere fourteen months later-was on September 24, 2012, when my son was enjoying nature while riding his sports bike. He had a tragic accident and died instantly at the young age of twenty-one. My world came to a screeching halt. Two people who meant everything to me were gone forever. Many well-intentioned people told me what I should be doing to get over this, but quite frankly, it wasn't until I came out of the fog that I realized that the only way I was going to survive the rest of my life was to try to channel my grief into something positive.
