The threat of a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) attack against the United States is more significant than ever. The United States Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) corps is designed to deal with the results of this attack; however the focus of the CBRN corps has shifted from the passive defense (reactive) posture to the active defense (proactive) posture. A key mission in the conduct of active CBRN defense is the WMD elimination mission.
