He noticed it only one toe on it's right front foot. He brought the turtle home to try and help it. He dug out a small pond for the turtle. After about three years, the turtle seemed not to respond it its care. It was then taken to a small lake nearby and released. It's speedy escape into the water was a joy to behold.
