The Air force is struggling to get its arms around information technology expenditures, governance of information technology, oversight of information technology, and standards of information technology. The efforts to accomplish this are not integrated or coherent. Current information technology policies and acquisition processes need transformation. Current information technology systems are purchased through a variety of processes with minimal emphasis on standards.
