Young scientist-chemist Dmitry Sinkovsky becomes the first Earthling to arrive on Mars in the last 30 years. The colony, which has long been independent, amazes him with its thoughtfulness and scale, but gradually Dmitry realizes that there is something more behind the external well-being. He is involved in the ambitious project «New Earth», whose goal is to create a liveable atmosphere. However, every day he is confronted with increasingly strange events and disturbing discoveries related to the secret structure of power, implanted chips and phantom freedom of the colony’s inhabitants. What is hidden behind the facade of this «paradise»? Dmitry is faced with a choice, on which not only his own fate depends, but also the future of both civilizations - terrestrial and martian.
