This book is about Jesus Christ making disciples, and in particular Simon, a Galilean fisherman whom He named Peter. The Master called Peter to be a fisher of men-the first Christian evangelist. Amazingly, He entrusted the keys of the kingdom of heaven to one of the most colorful, intriguing and fascinating characters of the Bible. Simon Peter was eager, energetic, charming, bold, forthright, reckless, impulsive, unstable, fickle, weak, rash, wavering and cowardly with foot and mouth disease-a paradox of inconsistency until he received God's gift of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
