Playful text-image works from the popular artist and illustrator Stefan MarxOver the past 20 years, the German contemporary artist, skateboarder and illustrator Stefan Marx (born 1979) has been translating lines from songs, popular sayings and quotations into paintings or drawings on two-dimensional surfaces—interpreting phrases such as “I guess I shouldn’t be telling you," “funny how I find myself in love with you," “this is so not what I wanted," and others abstracted to the point of illegibility.
