Fortunately, it is the former. A deep maroon hue, the nose is redolent of blackcurrants, coffee grinds, aniseed, sage, tobacco leaves, a touch of chocolate and evidence of a little graphite. There is good focus here, impressive length and very fine tannins. The chocolate and graphite is accentuated on the palate. A fine example and one which proves that even good Margaret River Cabernet can have relative peanuts. Cracking value. Enjoy over the next eight to ten years. Drink by: 2025-2035.
