Piekenierskloof may be better known for Grenache, but the region is well-suited to Syrah, or Shiraz, too. This one has aromas of pine and sage, stylish 30% new oak and a bright, tangy, white pepper, bramble and pomegranate palate. The tannins are right on point. Drink date: 2023-2028. Score - 92.
