There are a little under 500 cases of the 2021 Hermitage La Chapelle Blanc, which is all Marsanne. As with all the whites here, malo was blocked, and this was vinified and aged in concrete. It's another Chablis-like effort offering bright citrus, honeyed grapefruit, green apple, and exotic floral notes in a medium-bodied, vibrant, racy style. It picks up a distinct salinity on the finish, and as with the Chevalier de Sterimberg, it's going to evolve for a good decade. Maturity: 2022-2032. Score - 92.
