M ost of them have appeared in print before, and the first poem in the collection had the fortune to be selected by the editor of the Ladies' Home J ournal as one among a few poems commended as the best Christmas poems. One of the other poems was printed and circulated by a clergyman who heard it recited, at his own expense. So that whether he would or not the author has had a certain introduction to a limited public and finds an occasional demand it is not in human nature to be unwilling to meet.
