Before curling, slide the lock/unlock switch down into the locked position. The comb will automatically release from the barrel to better grip the hair, preventing it from slipping while also controlling frizzy, unruly textures. While curling, slide the lock/unlock switch up into the locked position and shift the lever to the left. The comb will retract into the barrel, releasing a snag-free, natural-looking wave. For styling without the comb, slide the lock/unlock switch up into the locked position. Shift the lever to the left. The comb will retract into the barrel, leaving a styling rod for creating natural-looking curls.
