This continues to be one of the best carmeneres of Chile - combining the grape's natural energy and ruggedness with some fruit and aromatic charm. Expect very deep youthful purple colour over the next year or two. The nose catches fragrant and very appealing blueberry, lilac, white chocolate and fresh mint and leafy aromas typical of the grape. It's full bodied, fairly dense, smooth, juicy and sweet with carmenere's green, pyrazine note grabbing like a fish hook on the finish. Tannins are firm and gritty. The length is excellent. Best 2014 to 2020 [yet still impressive at full maturity in 2025].Tasted May 2013. Score - 92.
