Michael Bennett wouldn't consider himself stupid**, per se.** He would consider himself doomed, though. For what it's worth, when he signed up to be an astronaut for the shady space organization, he didn't think the 'shady' part would actually come into play. Now, five months after a freak accident claimed the life of his best friend, crewmate, and only companion on a spaceship thousands upon thousands of miles (kilometers, whatever) away from Earth, Michael is receiving the fruits of his labor—rotten, all the way through. And thanks to his extended isolation, he fears he may be going the same way. Solitude would drive anyone to the brink of insanity. He'd never wish it on anyone. But maybe, if there were others out there—abandoned, forgotten like him—he wouldn't be so alone. Trapped with nothing but a broken radio, a stained journal, and the creeping sense of dread over his shoulder for company, Michael would settle for practically anything at this point. And he really meant anything. Even an unsettlingly familiar computer.
