This Pinot Noir, aged for six months in second-use French oak, exudes elegance and freshness. A distinct top note of saffron gives it an exotic lift and allure, providing vividness to the cranberry and cherry fruit. The tannins are fine and zesty, drenched in blood orange juice. A beautiful, moreish veil of leather and roast beef balances lifted elegance with delicious fleshiness. Having released its first vintage in 2004, Malma (which means 'pride' in a local dialect) was acquired by the Viola family in 2009 and has since become one of the leading commercial wineries in Neuquén. Drinking window: 2025-2030. Score - 93. (Ines Salpico, decanter.com, July 19, 2025) This Pinot Noir, aged for six months in second-use French oak, exudes elegance and freshness.
