Evolving nicely at this stage, there's a real floral, almost blue-fruited side to this Beaune 1er cru from Roche de Bellene, also un common licorice and mentholated notes adding intrigue and interest. The palate delivers considerable extract and flavour depth, with tannins integrating nicely though still gently gripping the palate. I like the richness and fluidity allied to sapidity, and the raw silk-like textural quality. Great length, too.
