(this vineyard was affected by frost, but Jadot has three different sources of fruit): Bright, dark red. Aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and menthol are complicated by a sexy musky quality. Boasts lovely mineral energy and definition in the mouth, as well as excellent depth of flavor and restrained sweetness. Seems higher in acidity than most of the Jadot '16s from the Côte de Beaune but also more complex. Finishes firm, even a bit muscular, but not hard, with serious ripe tannins. (There's no Les Saint-Georges or Les Cailles in 2016 as Jadot couldn't get the fruit.) Score - 90-92.
