This paper is about leadership in the USAF acquisition community and within the USAF program offices designated with the responsibility of \"acquiring quality products that satisfy user needs with measurable improvements to mission accomplishment and operational support, in a timely manner, and at a fair and reasonable price.\"1 The paper concludes there are four acquisition leadership competencies that should be required of system program directors in addition to the education, training, and experience standards established by DAWIA and directed by DODD 5000.52-M..
