Kracher Weinlaubenhof No. 10 Nouvelle Vague Chardonnay Trockenbeerenauslese 2017

Vinified in new oak for 18 months, the intensely golden colored 2017 Chardonnay Trockenbeerenauslese No 10 Nouvelle Vague is quite oaky and more oxidative (or Jura-styled) than I remember from earlier vintages. It's very interesting but very different and with less prominent fruit aromas. Sweet and rich, with tobacco, yeast and oaky flavors on the palate, this is a very refined, perfectly juicy and balanced Chardonnay TBA bottled with 6% alcohol and 334.7 grams per liter of residual sugar. Possibly the finest TBA I have tasted from Gerhard Kracher. Drink date: 2030-2050. Score - 98.
