While there's been much hoopla over the outstanding 2007 vintage in Ontario, there are many great wines from 2006 that are not to be missed, like this tasty, award-winning Merlot. The aromas show spiced plum, cherry drops, licorice allsorts and leather. The palate is dry with ample ripe fruit flavours as well as notes of vanilla and black tea supported by bright acidity and moderate tannins. Smooth textured and with very good length, this is drinking beautifully, especially with prime rib roast.
