The fruit for this unique wine comes from vines over 15 years of age. The Malcorta clone is notoriously challenging to harvest, hence the name 'Mal-corta' (difficult to cut). It had nearly become extinct, but Javier Sanz was drawn to the intense floral tones and exceptionally high acidity it provides and so worked to save it.
