My venture began in 1973 and is still ongoing. I left England on a visit to Germany which was planned to be for one year, but it was extended, and extended, and extended. Although both countries are, at least in theory, "European", there are numerous differences in cultural and social areas which were first part of a learning curve but increasingly became questions posed, perspectives challenged and attitudes altered. This A-Z offers a cross-section of elements portraying my thoughts and feelings towards my country of birth and my new home country.
