Life can be challenging even at the best of times, but a person's attitude in the face of adversity can determine success or failure. Each person's life experience shapes how he will develop. When the author's husband's health begins declining and he endures not only multiple hospital stays but the loss of his ministry job, she and her daughter turn to their faith, which is more important than ever. Their quiet acceptance of harsh circumstances, coupled with love for Jesus Christ, helps the family continue its mission of service to others. This small volume of essays reflects the lessons Mary Ellen and her husband and daughter have learned in the classroom of life, persevering when all hope seems to be lost.
About the Author
Mary Ellen Bubolz has found that it truly is more blessed to give than to receive, ministering to others through baking, cards, correspondence, music, and visitation. The mother of a wonderful daughter, Mary Ellen is a writer and musician who lives in northwestern Minnesota. Taking care of her family and helping others have taken priority over a traditional career and graduate school. She hopes to write additional volumes of reflection to touch others as Christ has touched her.
