Among its 5ha of vines is the parcel in Castelletto in Monforte, which is the source of this Barolo, and the 2016 surpasses the excellent 2015. It has a stern cherry nose and a powerful, tannic, full-bodied palate. It's rather grippy now but has energy and flair, tension and spice, and overall it's imperious and long, if not very subtle.
