My purpose is to unveil the relation between poetic transcriptions and qualitative research. This process is how we make sense of ourselves and, perhaps, is a doorway toward understanding the other. Poetic transcriptions require being prepared for the other to speak to us, thus treating the other as equals to be met, not objects to be inspected, tolerated, or unseen. As I endeavored to examine their meanings and truths, my poetic transcriptions are about the deferred dreams, silenced voices, and hidden faces of four African American men.
