When Police Sergeant Jac Renée Morgan blacked out while piloting her Cessna, she woke to what was surely a coma-induced nightmare – or Hell. Either would have been preferable. In reality, she had been abducted by aliens and taken to their planet Egrean, where she was used as a human lab rat by a race of beings thousands of years more advanced than Earth. But the Egreans made one mistake: their experiments enhanced her senses, making her almost superhuman. And Jac intends to use her new skills to escape and return to her home.
Unexpectedly aided in her escape by Egrean scientist Leanna, Jac puts her plan into motion, making their way to the space port to steal a spaceship. Except, Jac discovers she was not the only one abducted by the Egreans and decides to free the dozens of prisoners so they can return to their own worlds. Unknown to Jac, there are traitors among those helping her, beings who want their ship destroyed. They must find the turncoats and make it to the Protection Zone before the Egreans or their allies recapture them, then on to the Jump Gate, the way out of the Andromeda galaxy and back to hers.
Low on supplies, surrounded by a debris field, deadly enemies, and determined space pirates, Jac must lead her mismatched team of soldiers to safety. Can a police sergeant from Earth outsmart and out-fight races of aliens determined to kill her?
