The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru includes 65% whole bunches and 50% new oak. As one would expect, this very complex bouquet offers touches of cumin filtering through the red berry fruit, an underlying mineralité becoming increasingly apparent with aeration. The medium-bodied palate has a pixelated entry, tensile yet structured, quite peppery in the mouth to the point that I might have guessed there were actually more whole bunches. Yet the terroir, rather the nobility of the terroir, still shines through. Very long and precise on the finish. Superb, but patience will be needed. Drinking window: 2030-2060.
