Notably smoky off the top, this is savoury, dense and dark syrah from the Similkameen, with licorice and dried violet character, scorched earth and burnt rubber, a real monolithic and intense expression. Tannins are abundant but ripe and slippery, while acids are firm and supportive. Length is excellent. I'd suggest cellaring this for another 2-4 years minimum for the raw energy to dissipate. There is a lot of wine in this bottle, coiled and ready to pounce. Score - 92.
