Five women from different backgrounds and ages navigate life in upstate New York. They each carry their own long-standing misbeliefs. On a sunny, clear October afternoon, they wind up gathered in a cluttered women's consignment shop.
A huge, muscular man with intimidating tattoos enters the consignment shop. The women soon encounter complications and danger that they had not anticipated. The stranger locks the door, turns out the lights, and closes the shop. He forces the group into the basement below the shop. The man swings between angry outbursts and physical attacks. In between, he displays feats of strength, makes bizarre outfit changes, and disappears into silent bouts of self-pity. The women realize they must take action to escape. For the group to succeed, each person must address her age-old misconceptions. Then, together they can devise a plan and carry out their strategy. Any failures or missteps could end their lives. The question lingering through all their minds is: Who will strike first—him or them?
