'Very good limestone,' is how Susana Balbo describes the soils of this vineyard, planted at 1,350 metres in 2005 and 2008. Marrying Malbec with 18% Cabernet Franc, the resulting wine is a poised, aromatic, self-assured blend that has the concentration and focus to handle its 70% new wood with ease. The tannins are very fine, the fruit chalky and intense, with notes of graphite and black cherry. Drink date: 2023-2032. Score - 94.
