As a composer, pianist, arranger, and orchestrator Bryce Russell is fluent in various styles from classical and jazz to modern MIDI instruments and digital music. He studied piano under Tahnia Lund and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Composition for film, television, and video games from Berklee College of Music in Boston. From 2012 to 2017, he was a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). He participated in piano competitions from 2010 to 2012, often winning first or second place at events such as the 5th annual Temecula Artist Competition hosted by the Temecula Valley Music Teacher Association (TVMTA), and the 11th Annual Sunrise Rotary Club. Playing advanced repertoire selections as Quejas o la maja y el ruisenor from the Goyescas piano cycle by Enrique Granados, or the virtuosic Hungarian Rhapsodies by Franz Liszt. When he retired from the competition circuit, he turned to composing. His compositions have earned many awards and widespread recognition. He performed original music in MTAC Composer's Guild concerts throughout much of southern California. One of his compositions, "Flying with Eagles" was recognized by the City of Los Angeles with a certificate and an invitation to participate in the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Russell donates his services to many local events, including community theaters, city councils, charities, and choir clubs. He continues to work as a performing pianist and composer.
