When I was younger, I vowed never to change my favorite color from blue. Now I have disgraced her. I am much too distracted by warmer colors nowadays. It must be confusing as to why it matters, but I have never betrayed her. I have never switched the color that I favored. I have made a promise and saw to it that I should keep it. I've often wondered why I was like this. I could change my favorite color at any moment. I think the real issue was I told this to so many people that I felt held accountable. It sounds silly, and I agree that it is. But much like this poetry collection, I have kept my word not to anyone else but myself. Every poem I have written on each page explores a little bit more into my mentality. My state of thinking, whether dark or lovely, was thought over and put on paper with more silly things that I'd have to agree with are ridiculous; but there still is beauty in it.
