This book is based on the true story of the author's Grandfather, who was a crewman on a Grand Banks fishing schooner out of Harbour Breton, Newfoundland that was wrecked during a storm in the winter of 1912. It is a tale of death and survival and a depiction of how rural fishermen and their families may have lived at the time.
